These warmer temps have sprung spring upon us here in Northern California. Water temps are slowly rising and fish are starting to fatten up for the upcoming spawn. There are plenty of bugs starting to pop as well....
Shasta Lake!
Shasta is a new venue that I am now offering for a winter/spring option. Its is an amazing and diverse fishery offering a shot at Bass and trout. The main target being spotted bass, as the water temps continue to rise these fish are starting to get into pre-spawn and fatten up!
If you have never fished for bass on a fly rod, let me just tell you its a blast! So fun that i recently purchased a new boat just to be able to fish and guide for it. There are times when the action is so good your arm will get tired. Come up and try it you wont be disappointed.
Lower Sacramento River
The Lower Sac is definitely starting to fish better and it will only get better from here on out. I've seen good numbers of both PMD's and Caddis hatching in the past week. We have been catching better numbers lower on the river and some bigger ones up high, no suprise there..
IF neither of those options sound good there is the Pit River, Upper Sacramento River, and good old Baum Lake for some spring time Brown Trout.
